Tracey is a self-educated Plant-Based Wholefood Chef who is passionate about creating, enjoying and sharing delicious, nourishing and simple plant-based food with others. As a working mother of 4 (and recent grandmother to one!) Tracey knows just how important it is to create simple meals that taste fantastic and don’t demand too much of you.
She has always enjoyed the creative aspects of cooking like crafting her own dishes from scratch and also making food look gorgeous! She credits her Mum for the latter passion as she was super talented at making food look amazing while Tracey was growing up and she admired and saw how much people enjoyed this. By her early 20’s, it wasn’t unusual for Tracey to spend all day preparing a dinner party for her uni friends, loving the ritual of dinner parties and connecting over good food.
Cooking remained a big passion into family life and Tracey co-founded The Exceptional Health Company with husband Jason Shon Bennett in 2009 based on sheer demand in their community. For almost a decade (until 2017), they offered an on-line programme called ‘The Life Plan’ for people wanting to improve their health and vitality, overcome illnesses, drop excess weight and extend their longevity. In this partnership, Jason was the researcher, speaker (the ‘why’) and Tracey was the recipe creator and provider (the ‘how to’), creating over 300 recipes for their programmes and to share with their members. Together, their vision was to educate and inspire people how to eat well, get well and stay well through changes to their diet, lifestyle and environment.
These days, Jason continues to research and speak, while Tracey takes great pleasure in sharing her love of food with others through teaching workshops in her community and sometimes further afield. She is currently teaching 4-week and 8-week Plant Based Cooking Courses called ‘Discover Your Inner Chef’ and one day workshops on a variety of topics like ‘Plant Based Goodness”, ‘Divine, Decadent Desserts’, ‘Raw Treats from Heaven and more.
While Tracey considers herself an educator first, she has recently also begun to dabble and delight in providing plant-based catering/nourishment for special events, mostly in the wellness/transformation industry. To date, she has catered 2 x Women’ Retreats for Nikki Rhodes, a launch party for Laura Ellen, a yoga immersion dinner for Adele Kinghan and will do a five day yoga teacher training for Kara Leah Grant in January. She is loving this new arm of her work and loves to nourish people with delicious nutrient rich food made with plenty of aroha while they go through growth and transformational practices and experiences.
A people person through and through, Tracey loves connecting, creating and collaborating with others on a similar path so who knows what is around the corner; there are definetely some weekend retreats teaming up with other awesome practitioners on the horizon. Watch this space!
