Your Body and Plant-based Eating ..
If you’re completely new to eating this way you’re probably having a lot more fibre in your diet. That means more gas emitting from your body, more regular bowel motions (maybe super fast ones) and perhaps a little bloating.
Don’t worry. This will usually settle down after a few weeks. Keep up your water, try some peppermint tea (good for gas) and rest assured your gut is re-establishing more of the good guys and your body will thank you for it.
When you go completely plant-based you don’t absorb enough B12, therefore a B12 supplement (available from pharmacies) is required .. I use a liquid variety which just requires a drop under the tongue each day.
Articles on Going Vegan
Below are are couple of articles which will provide you with more insight into going ‘vegan’.
Niki Bezzant sums up well the way we, at Plant Vibe, feel towards having a plant-based diet:
“But plant-based doesn’t have to be plant-only. A vegan diet is not the only way to eat a plant-based diet. We can still be plant-based – as I am, as many of the world’s healthiest people are – and still include small amounts of animal products. When it comes to health, it doesn’t have to be vegan or nothing.”
The important thing to remember is to maintain a healthy balanced diet. If you are worried about what’s happening to your body then please consult your doctor.
